Immigration: Rich Diversity or Social Burden (2009) is part of the new series “USA Today’s Debate: Voices and Perspectives.” Published by Twenty-First Century Books, a division of Lerner, in partnership with USA Today, the series reprises four of the most compelling titles from Lerner’s earlier Pro-Con series.
The immigration issue has changed drastically over the past twelve years. Once primarily a border-state problem, immigration now affects the entire country, even small rural communities in the Midwest.
Revising the book required not only updating facts and figures with current references but also exploring the changed atmosphere surrounding immigration in the United States.
Also included are a timeline of immigration, a glossary, and an extensive annotated list of sources for further information including organizations to contact, books, films, and web sites.
